Marching Band Field Show Competitions
Imagine performing in a National Marching Band Field Show
Competition, held right in the center of Washington DC on
the National Mall, in the shadows of the Statue of
Liberty, or beneath the Eiffel Tower.
"Field Show
International" will feature
Bands from across the United States in competition, awarding
the Grand Champion the prestigious "Marching Band Cup."
Music
- an essential part of a complete education
We invite all to recognize music as an essential part of
a complete education. It is fitting that we
consider a complete education part of school music.
We often hear from students that "I learn more about
history on our band trips than I have sitting in History
class!" Music and academics are complimentary in
nature. Music inspires excellence in all fields of
study.
Marching bands are made up of
youth who are not only outstanding musicians, but are
exemplary students and solid citizens as well. We are
of the opinion that the best and brightest students in
school are the music students. This event will do much
to demonstrate this fact by weighting the bands' cumulative
grade point average as part of the overall score.
